Darwen Valley rose from the ashes of the former Sudellside community Centre after being adopted to be run by the Local Community for the Local Community.

Making A Difference
Humpty Dumpty Nursery
Providing local childcare for the people of Blackburn With Darwen. Humpty Dumpty Nursery have been an important part of Darwen Valley Nursery after closure of local Government funded facilities.
Darwen School of Kung Fu
Darwen School of Kung Fu have been providing self defence and fitness in the local area since opening in 1968 and moving to Darwen Valley in 1998. Parents are encouraged to practice with their children at no extra cost ensuring fitness is a family Social benefit all can afford while learning valuable life skills and non violent ways of dealing with confrontation. Students can learn a mixture of East and West fitness methods including Chi Kung, massage and acupressure along with Martial arts from around the world which include Tai Chi, Hsing I, Wing Chun, Silat, Kali and Capoeira.
Children are taught life lessons in stranger danger, online safety, anti bullying, drugs avoidance, road safety along with encouragement to have fun in a friendly atmosphere with awards, competitions, sleep overs and trips while also helping the local community and supporting local causes.
